Welcome!
I was born and raised in Louisa, VIrginia, where I graduated from Louisa County High School in 2009. After high school, I attended James Madison University and graduated in December 2012 with a Bachelor's of Science in psychology and a minor in family studies. I then attended Longwood University, and I graduated in December 2015 with a Master's of Science in school counseling.
While completing my graduate program, I worked as a substitute teacher in Louisa. I have held several long-term substitute positions, including a high school counselor, elementary school counselor, special education instructional assistant, and early childhood special education instructional assistant. My other experiences working with youth include holding positions as a Summer Day Camp Staff at Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism, an After School Supervisor with the Rockingham County Recreation Department, and a Youth Development & Agriculture Intern through Virginia Cooperative Extension. These experiences, in addition to the positive relationships I still have with my previous counselors, have inspired me to become a school counselor.
In my free time, I enjoy shopping, crafting, going to the beach, going to concerts, and spending time with my family and friends. Feel free to contact me at kristin.madison@live.longwood.edu.
